Black Friday should be banned.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Called Black Friday because all the stores in America go on sale. But people are totally messed up. That Black Friday should be banned.

Just today:

1. A worker at Wal-Mart was trampled by a large crowd wating in line to buy stuff. One worker, Jdimytai Damour, 34, was thrown back onto the black linoleum tiles and trampled in the stampede that streamed over and around him. Others who had stood alongside Mr. Damour trying to hold the doors were also hurled back and run over, witnesses said. Damour only 34 would later die. Also, people waiting in line didn’t care and still wanted to shop.

2. Two Hispanic women were fighting in a Toys “R” US store in California. When there husbands pulled out guns and shoot each other to death.

I feel so sorry for these people’s families and friends. How messed up it is to be killed over a clearance sale. Those people and stores should be ashamed of themselves. It just says how messed up people are. And how insignificant human life is to some people. Because of this stores should stop clearance sales after Thanksgiving. And ban Black Friday. So the families and friends of the people who died can at least get some solace.

  1. I see what you’re saying, but I really don’t see stores doing that. I don’t see people in general going with that flow either, but I agree.

How did this whole thing start in the first place? I mean sheesh! I’m scared to go in to the mall just to spend some time with friends on black friday.

  2. This is because the stores don’t care that people are dying they just care about making money. Human life to them is insignificant. It’s pretty sad.

  3. I agree 100% that this “shopping holiday” should come to an end, if for no other reason, out of respect for the people injured or killed. However, it won’t happen. I used to work in retail. Most businesses operate in the red all year, and Black Friday is the day when they finally turn a profit. Stores will never, ever let that go, no matter how many people die.

  4. Black Friday should be exclusively online.

  5. I also agree. Black Friday has gotten way out of control, and apparently people in our society no longer value human life over material items. It’s pathetic, and I really hope that retailers consider these tragedies and cancel it.

  6. Lets all jerk!
    go to
and search up for [O$D jerk]

  7. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season in the United States. Although the day after Thanksgiving has served as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season for decades, the term ‘Black Friday’ has been traced back only to the 1970s and did not achieve widespread popularity until about 2002.” There are two basic theories on the origin of the term, one refers to the heavy traffic on that day, the other to the idea that retailers operate at a financial loss for most of the year and make their profit during the holidays. “Black Friday, under this theory, is the beginning of the period where retailers would no longer have losses (the red) and instead take in the year’s profits (the black).”

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Called Black Friday because all the stores in America go on sale. But people are totally messed up. That Black Friday should be banned. A lot of family losses their members by getting killed or injured in Black Friday. People get mad by killing each other for 20%off price items.(Opinion)

The biggest bonus for shopping on Black Friday is, obviously, the general discounts. Many retailers will provide at least a small sale on their biggest items, and most offer big sales on even their smallest items. However, this doesn’t always mean you’ll find deals on everything. Electronics are usually the biggest sellers on Black Friday, and are offered at the biggest discounts. From stereos to appliances, you can be fairly sure you’re going to get a deal. Even DVDs and CDs are usually marked down. So if you need electronics, shopping on Black Friday can be a very smart move. (pros)

The most obvious drawback to shopping on Black Friday is facing the crowds! When people claim it’s the biggest shopping day of the year, they mean in terms of shoppers, not in terms of profit. People can become impatient and even downright mean in their search for the ultimate discount, so be wary of smashed toes, fingers and faces.
Another drawback to shopping on Black Friday is the potential for a bad deal. You can end up regretting your purchase as December rolls around. (cons)

Many stores offer sales throughout the holiday months and may offer better discounts than any Black Friday sale. Basic human nature contributes to a big, general, drawback when shopping on Black Friday. Shoppers may go to a store looking for something specific, only to find it has sold out. The temptation to grab the next best deal, or buy anything because you’re determined to shop, is big. Retailers rely on the buying impulse in their customers. In fact, some shops deliberately offer a great deal on an item, and make sure to only set out a small amount of said item. This is done in the hope to draw shoppers to the store and convince them to buy something other than the item they came for. (Cons)
